In contemplating what my favorite Devon Shire film would be, I find myself in a quandary. I usually like where real life and porn crosses, but this - this is a mess! I remember seeing her on that Current Affair piece, and I have no doubt that many women find themselves doing porn as a sidetrack to seeking more modest stardom. I also have no judgement to pass on any women that get the rep of being star bangers or groupies.

Before her O.J. fame came to light, she stood out to me in the first thing I saw her in Seymore Butts' Busting Out My Best Anal which was a compilation of scenes from earlier shoots Devonshire does the usual cutesy banter with Seymore and Ron Jeremy before having sex with Jeremy, including anal. In that and future scenes, Devonshire seemed to be genuinely turned on and getting off in her scenes. I also saw the moment when she had said she was just in it more the money.

What was even more thought provoking was the scene with Ed Powers, in "Dirty Dirty Debutantes 7" where he loves to get a lot of real life dialogue going, and she fesses up about having a child by an NFL player ( not OJ or Al - it was later rumored to be..... well....name rhymes with Schmarcus Ballen) and about having financial troubles after the tabloids stopped paying her for her stories. THAT is why she's back in porn, back on a bed like Ed's and, in reflection of how soulless the whole industry is, he still pays to fuck her on camera, and I still watched. And on top of all that, she must have said to herself what the hell, while I'm here I might as well make a show of it or actually have a good time, because she was moaning great and talking dirty in that unrehearsed way that stiffens the wood.

I would hope she's not on welfare, living in a hovel, raising her kid(s) on Ramen Noodles and ketchup soup, but I also wonder if I say that to assuage my own guilt reflect. After all, we fuel this industry with our consumer dollars, we just don't want to know which ones are the runaways, or drug abusers, or which ones are escorting to pay the bills, as though that would be better that straight out streetwalking.

I agree that she does look more relaxed, more in control when she did girl/girl. I think most of the women do.
